Storyline / Background Information
In the wake of the catastrophic events at Robin Sage during Operation Last Refuge 3, the Alliance of Confederated Municipalities (ACM) suffered a major setback. Reeling from the unexpected losses and confusion surrounding the incident, the ACM leadership made the strategic decision to pull back, regroup, and investigate the true nature of what had transpired. The battlefield had become a mystery, one cloaked in silence and death—and they needed answers.
Unbeknownst to the broader world, the mercenary corporation known as Avalon International (AI) had used the chaos to mask its own sinister agenda. Exploiting a rare snake venom imported from overseas, AI synthesized a potent new class of nerve agent. This bioweapon, unstable yet highly effective, was discreetly tested during the operation—turning the area into a deadly lab and its inhabitants into unwilling test subjects.
With proof of concept secured, AI entered into a lucrative and highly classified arms deal with the People’s Republic of Newfoundland (PRN), a desperate state embroiled in a losing conflict with the ACM. Eager for any advantage that might turn the tide, the PRN accepted the weapon without hesitation, initiating a series of covert field trials across controlled territories.
Now, months later, whispers of these experiments have reached ACM intelligence. Surveillance satellites recently picked up signs of activity at a suspected test site—designated AO Nova—where PRN research teams have been active. A highly mobile and elite ACM light infantry unit has been observed en route to the area, but their exact mission remains unclear. Are they planning a raid? An extraction? Or perhaps something even more dangerous?
In response, PRN’s Task Force Kestrel has been rapidly deployed to secure AO Nova and protect the secrets buried there. As tensions escalate, both factions move toward a collision course—one that could unveil the dark truth of AI’s weapon and ignite a new, deadlier phase of the war.
